Exodus Privacy Policy

This policy applies to Exodus website pages, product pages, download links, help center content, newsletter forms, support entry points, and related digital services. It also explains the privacy boundary between website data and self-custody wallet activity.

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Exodus may collect, use, store, and share information when you visit Exodus website pages, interact with product pages, use download entry points, subscribe to updates, contact support, or access related digital services.

It is intended to explain website and service data practices in clear terms. It does not change the self-custody nature of the wallet. You remain responsible for safeguarding your device, recovery phrase, wallet password, and blockchain transactions.

2. Information we collect

When you browse Exodus pages, technical information may be collected automatically, including browser type, operating system, device type, approximate location derived from network data, referring pages, pages viewed, time spent on pages, click behavior, and general diagnostic information.

If you choose to submit information through a newsletter form, support form, contact page, or other communication channel, we may receive information such as your email address, message content, support topic, attachment details, and any information you voluntarily include in your request.

Exodus pages may also process limited interaction data to understand how visitors move through product, download, help, and legal content. This data is generally used to maintain site performance, identify errors, and improve navigation.

3. Wallet and blockchain data

Exodus is a self-custody wallet. Your recovery phrase and private keys are not meant to be submitted through website forms, support messages, or newsletter subscriptions. You should never share your recovery phrase, private keys, passwords, or authentication details with any website, support channel, or third party.

Blockchain transactions are public by nature. When you send, receive, swap, bridge, stake, or interact with blockchain networks, transaction hashes, wallet addresses, asset amounts, network fees, token approvals, and smart contract interactions may be visible on public block explorers.

The website may link to wallet downloads, product pages, help articles, asset information, and third-party services. Those pages may describe wallet functionality, but they do not make Exodus a custodian of your assets or recovery phrase.

4. How information is used

Information may be used to operate and maintain the website, deliver requested communications, respond to support inquiries, improve page performance, troubleshoot errors, measure content usefulness, detect abuse, protect site integrity, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

If you subscribe to product updates or a newsletter, your email address may be used to send relevant updates, announcements, educational content, or service-related communications. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the instructions included in those messages.

Information may also be used in aggregated or de-identified form to understand general usage trends, improve product documentation, and make download, help, and legal pages easier to navigate.

5. Cookies and analytics

Exodus websites may use cookies, local storage, pixels, analytics tags, and similar technologies to keep the site functional, remember preferences, understand page performance, measure traffic sources, and improve content organization.

Analytics tools may help identify which pages are visited, which links are clicked, how users arrive on the site, and whether errors occur. These tools may set their own cookies or process limited device and browser information according to their own privacy terms.

Most browsers allow you to manage or disable cookies through browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain website features, saved preferences, analytics accuracy, or embedded content behavior.

6. Third-party services

Exodus pages may include links to app stores, browser extension stores, hardware wallet providers, payment providers, swap or staking providers, customer support tools, social media platforms, video platforms, analytics services, and other external websites.

When you leave an Exodus page or interact with a third-party service, that service may collect information under its own privacy policy. Exodus does not control the privacy practices, security practices, content, or data retention rules of third-party websites or service providers.

Before using any third-party service, review its terms, privacy policy, fee disclosures, supported regions, asset support, network requirements, and transaction details.

7. Data retention

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, security needs, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or operational recordkeeping.

Support messages, newsletter subscription records, diagnostic logs, and analytics records may have different retention periods depending on the service involved, the nature of the request, and applicable legal or operational requirements.

Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained for product analysis, security, and reporting because it is not intended to identify a specific individual.

8. Security practices

Reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards may be used to protect information processed through Exodus websites and related services. No website, network, device, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You play an important role in protecting your privacy and assets. Keep your device updated, use trusted networks, verify download sources, review browser extension permissions, protect your wallet password, and never share your recovery phrase or private keys.

If you believe you shared sensitive wallet information, downloaded a suspicious file, connected to a malicious DApp, or approved an unexpected blockchain transaction, take immediate steps to secure your wallet and review relevant help resources.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to certain personal information, request correction or deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, opt out of marketing communications, or request information about how data is used.

These rights may be subject to legal limits, identity verification, security review, and retention obligations. Some information may need to be retained for compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or operational security.

You can also control many website privacy settings directly through your browser, device settings, email unsubscribe links, and third-party service privacy controls.

10. Contact and policy updates

Questions about privacy practices, data handling, or this policy may be directed through the available support or contact channels. Do not include recovery phrases, private keys, passwords, or sensitive wallet credentials in any message.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in website features, product pages, service providers, legal requirements, or operational practices. The “Last updated” date indicates when the current version was published.

Continued use of Exodus website pages or related digital services after an update means the revised policy applies to future interactions with those pages and services.
